Transforming lives through maritime education

Our work is more than funding education for disadvantaged Caribbean youth who aspire to be part of the global shipping industry. Our work helps lift individuals and their families ‘out of poverty’.

This is what we hear month after month from our students whose only dream is to work in shipping, hopefully with your company at sea or shoreside.

Advocating for maritime students in the Caribbean

The American Caribbean Maritime Foundation mission is to Alleviate poverty and transform lives in the Caribbean through maritime education and community development.

The Foundation

We believe that the maritime industry has a critical and unique role to play in reducing poverty, addressing gender inequality issues, and spurring economic growth in the Caribbean. (www.acmfdn.org)

Our Scholarships

The Foundation funds scholarships, grants, equipment for maritime training and education in the Caribbean. We extend scholarships to students attending or planning to attend any of our academic partners.

Career Exchange

The ACMF currently operates a Career Exchange Programme. We encourage students to complete their profile on the jobs board (www.acmf-carex.org) even if they have not yet graduated. The platform is free to employers and candidates.”
